Scholarships

There are many scholarships available on the Scholarships website that can help you pay for tuition. By completing one application, you can apply for all general UTSA scholarships for which you qualify. Although it might take a little research to find which one might benefit you the most, it's worth taking the time to do so. We recommend that you complete the FAFSA to demonstrate need, which is a prerequisite for most scholarships. Students must be admitted to UTSA in order to be awarded scholarships.

Financial Aid Office

It is important to note that financial aid can only be awarded to high school graduates. Therefore, for first-time freshmen, the receipt of the final high scholl transcript is critcally important in order to actually receive the aid awarded through the financial aid package.

Also, a FAFSA must be on file in order to be considered for any form of federal, state or instiutional assistance. Many scholarships also require that the FAFSA be filed, regardless of need. An updated FAFSA will need to be filed each year you are enrolled at UTSA.

First-time freshmen and transfer students can apply for UTSA general scholarships awarded through Financial Aid and Enrollment Services when you apply via applytexas.org.

Please note that colleges or departments administer their own scholarship programs and therefore have separate applications. Check with your respective college/department to determine which scholarships you may be eligible for and obtain an application.
