Request Full Access to the Campus Network - Macintosh Computers

Top 3 Reasons to Request Full Access to the UTSA Network

UTSA Mac users access only part of the campus network on a daily basis, but there are several reasons to take advantage of requesting full access to the newtork for UTSA Macintosh systems.

Here are some great benefits you will see when you request full access to the UTSA network:

  1. Reduced Sign-on:

Full access will make signing in to your computer easier - simply log in using your myUTSA ID (abc123) and password. That's one less ID and password to remember! The system will also automatically inform you when your network password is going to expire and prompt you to change it.

  3. Remote Assistance:

Full access to the campus network will allow OITConnect (OITSS) technicians to remote into your Macintosh - this will allow technicians to see your computer screen without having to schedule an office visit. Remote access will allow the technician to resolve your issue in a more efficient manner and ultimately save you time.

OITConnect will use the Absolute Manage application on Mac systems to be able to provide you with this benefit.

  4. Updated Antivirus:

Many users are concerned about information security threats on their computer. UTSA OIT has incorporated the use of ClamXAV anti-virus to their list of preferred Mac applications.

When a Mac user requests full access to the UTSA network, OITConnect will install the latest version of ClamXAV anti-virus solution for you on your UTSA Mac.
