Student Preferred E-mail

How Does This Affect Me?

UTSA Faculty and Staff Faculty and Staff

  • Faculty and staff will now see different types of e-mail addresses for students in WebCT/Blackboard and Banner, where in the past they would only see the "my.utsa.edu" e-mail addresses.

UTSA Students Students

  • Beginning July 29, 2010, students were able to choose which e-mail address they would like to use to receive official UTSA correspondence - their myUTSAmail account (abc123@my.utsa.edu) or an existing personal e-mail account.

  • When students log in to ASAP, they will be prompted to choose their preferred e-mail account. Once a student changes their e-mail address, it will be officially updated within 24 hours.

Timeline

July 29, 2010

  • Students are able to go into ASAP to select their preferred e-mail address.

August 16, 2010

  • So far 17,244 of 51,583 active UTSA students have changed their preferred e-mail address to something other than my.utsa.edu
