Information Security Acknowledgements and Training Standard

Information Security awareness is an important part of UTSA’s program to safeguard data and computing resources The Office of Information Security provides material pertinent to information security for all users of information resources. Classes and online instruction shall be provided for those with specialized roles, such as those who are granted special administrative privileges.

  • All users, including consultants and temporary employees, must acknowledge that they understand and agree to UTSA’s requirements regarding information security policies and procedures prior to receiving access to information resources.

  • Each new employee must attend an approved Security Awareness training course within 30 days of being granted access to any UTSA information resources. The course covers the basics of information security, current trends and best practices.
