Digital Signage
The UTSA Digital Signage system is a new and growing network across campus. The current system contains 63 displays. There are additional displays joining the network every semester.
Because the Digital Signage programming system is very dynamic, promotional graphics or videos can be specifically targeted to a screen, building, campus or can be targeted campus wide.
Scheduling and rotation of the videos and graphics depends on saturation and amount of other content programmed in the system at a specific point in time and extended time is given to special events. Departments that own their displays and players maintain their content. Common displays are maintained by the Office of Information Technology Customer Relations and Communications.
Static Images
If you are designing your own graphic, set your graphics to the following specifications:
-
1280px x 720px resolution or 17.778in x 10in (anything smaller could result in the stretching of images and poor legibility)
-
If you are using non-graphic programs, set your page to a landscape page setup
-
(Optional) Include the 5 W's: who, what, when, where and why or relevant contact information
If you have completed your graphic or would like an image to be created for you, contact oitconnect@utsa.edu at (210) 458-5555.
Videos
Videos are viewed in the 16:9 (widescreen) format. The majority if the video files played by the system are mpg2 format. Please keep traditional production standards in mind for your videos with reference to the audio, video and timeframe. Video promotions should be: 30, :60 or :90 seconds in length.
For assistance or information, please contact oitconnect@utsa.edu at (210) 458-5555.
