(Feb. 13, 2012) -- The UTSA Office of Facilities announces the appointment of James David Oliver as assistant vice president for facilities. David, as he likes to be called, will join the university March 1.

Oliver comes from the UT Health Science Center San Antonio, where he served as director of engineering and project management.

At the Health Science Center, he managed the daily operations of the construction and renovation program involving more than $12 million in research and laboratory renovations, the vivarium and research areas, and fire and life safety projects.

With more than 20 years' experience in engineering and construction, Oliver is a registered professional engineer in Texas.

"Please join us in congratulating David and extending a hearty welcome to UTSA," said Dave Riker, UTSA associate vice president for facilities administration. "We are confident he will be a great asset to the university and the Facilities organization."
