Minor in Bicultural Studies
All students pursuing a Minor in Bicultural Studies must complete 18 semester credit hours.
- 6 semester credit hours of courses on bicultural studies selected from the following:
BBL 2003 Language, Culture, and Society
BBL 2023 Latino Cultural Expressions
MAS 2013 Introduction to Chicano(a) Studies
- 6 semester credit hours of courses on language selected from the following:
BBL 3013 Language Analysis and Bilingualism
BBL 3133 Language Development in Bilinguals
ESL 3003 Language and Schooling
MAS 3043 Social Psychological Considerations in Mexican American Communities
- 6 semester credit hours of courses on culture and society selected from the following:
BBL 2033 Cultures of the Southwest
BBL 3023 Mexican American Culture
BBL 3033 Mexican Americans in the Southwest
BBL 4953 Special Studies in Bilingual and Bicultural Studies
To declare a Minor in Bicultural Studies, obtain advice, or seek approval of substitutions for course requirements, students should consult an academic advisor in the College of Education and Human Development Advising and Certification Center.
